Advent of the Kings Arrival

Start of Advent, a season of anticipation. God has given us many prophecies around the coming Messiah, and this Christmas, with our royal thematic overtones, we’ll start the season of advent looking at the advent prophecy of Jeremiah where God points to the coming King who is to come from the lineage of David.

Gold: Jesus is King

Christmas is the realization of so many prophecies, not least of which is the fact that Jesus is the newborn King - and what better gift to give a king than gold? But how does Jesus describe himself as King and what is his kingdom like – and how does Christmas reveal all of this?

Frankincense: Jesus is God

The most controversial testimony of Jesus is this: He is God. How does his birth point to this, how does his life – and how does his own testimony point to Jesus being God the Son? Could Jesus Christ, the little boy born in a barn, truly be God in the flesh? If so, what does this mean for Christmas, and what does this mean for our lives? 

Myrrh: Jesus is Savior

Myrrh was given to Jesus at his birth, it was given to him again while he hung on the cross, and again it was also brought to him while he lay in the tomb. What is myrrh? What does this all mean, and does it have any significance for our lives? We’ll see as we look at myrrh’s place in the ancient world and the way it’s used at pivotal moments in Jesus' life (and death), myrrh points to Jesus as our savior!

Angelic Proclamation

Jesus, our king, has been born! Thru angelic proclamation, Jesus comes into this world that he, among many things, might usher in his Kingdom through this life, death, and resurrection. His birth is worthy of the highest celebration! Being Christmas Eve, we’ll make this service a focus of a grand celebration!

Our Proclamation

Picking up from the message on Christmas Eve, we see the shepherds go and visit the Christ child, but what is also amazing is that immediately after their encounter with Jesus, they go and tell the world. Now that Christmas is over – it's time for us to go and tell the world!
