Building Initiative

We’re a growing church in Wayland, trusting God as we enter the design and planning phase for a permanent home.

A Snapshot of our History

Since launching in September 2023, Peace Church Wayland has been a portable church - gathering at the Lumber Yard each Sunday through the faithfulness, flexibility, and sacrifice of an incredible team.

Week after week, people show up early, stay late, and serve with joy to make space for others to encounter Jesus. We’re deeply grateful for those who serve so faithfully, and for the many ways God has met us in every season and setting.

While we remain fully committed to the mission of Jesus wherever we gather, we believe a permanent space will allow us to continue growing without feeling cramped - and create more margin for connection, discipleship, and ministry. It will also help lighten the load our volunteers have been carrying so well.

In December 2024, we took a meaningful step forward by opening an additional space - 707 - our ministry and office space at 707 Superior. This space now serves as a hub for midweek ministry, including kids and student programming, Bible studies, groups, and classes.

Already, 707 has become a place where connection is happening, discipleship is growing, and people are taking next steps in their faith. We’re incredibly thankful for what God is doing through it.

Where We’re Going

As our church continues to grow, we are stepping into a new season. We are pursuing a permanent space where people can gather, encounter Jesus, and experience life together throughout the week and for generations to come.

We're excited to share that the purchase of 965 Reno Drive has been approved, and God has continued to open doors through the city approval process and financing. We are now moving into the design and planning phase as we prepare for the next step toward a permanent home for Peace Church Wayland.

Our first priority is what we're calling the "Get In and Gather" phase. This includes the renovations needed for us to occupy the building and begin gathering there as a church family. A key part of this first phase is also creating a dedicated KidMin space where our children can learn, worship, and grow as part of the life of the church.

To complete these initial phases, we need $750,000 in cash on hand. Over the coming months, members who are already committed to the mission and vision of Peace Church Wayland can expect to hear more about opportunities to give, serve, and help move this project forward.

As always, we want to be clear: the building is not the mission. Jesus is the mission. The building is a ministry tool we believe God will use to help us reach, disciple, and send people with the Gospel for generations to come.

What Happens Next

We're encouraged by what God is doing, and we're trusting Him for what's next. We invite you to continue praying with us - for wisdom, provision, and discernment - and that this space would be used to make a lasting gospel impact in our community. We also encourage you t to prayerfully consider your part in this journey - how God may be inviting you to participate through prayer, generosity, and engagement in the days ahead.

With approval in place, we're no longer asking if, but how we move forward. Over the coming month, we'll:

  • Finalize the purchase of the building

  • Engage architectural and engineering partners

  • Develop detailed site plans and renovation designs for city approval

  • Begin preparing for renovations and a future transition from our current spaces at 707 and The LumberYard

This phase will require wisdom, clarity, and intentional planning as we steward this opportunity.

As we step into this next phase, we’ll also be entering a season of intentional fundraising to support the purchase, design, and renovation of this space. This is an opportunity for all of us, as a church family, to participate in what God is building: through prayer, generosity, and shared commitment to the mission.

A Church Moving Forward in Faith

This moment reflects the continued momentum we've experienced as a church - not just in growth, but in faith. We believe God is guiding each step, opening doors, and inviting us to trust Him as we move forward.

We are encouraged by what He is doing, and we remain committed to moving with unity, patience, and clarity as we take these next steps together.

How You Can Pray & Give

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity already shown through the Wayland Building Fund, with more than $100,000 already given toward this future home for Peace Church Wayland. Our next goal is to raise the $750,000 needed to complete the "Get In and Gather" phase - preparing the building for us to gather as a church family and creating dedicated KidMin space for our children.

Every gift represents more than finances - it reflects hearts aligned with the mission of seeing lives changed through the gospel.

As we move into this next phase, we're entering a season of giving as begin the process of purchase, design, and planning. This is an opportunity for our church family to participate together. Through prayer, generosity, and shared commitment.

We invite you to continue praying for wisdom, provision, and unity - and to consider how God may be leading you to take part in this season.
